Opposition no longer IMF’s true love: Bimal

Colombo, March 21 (Daily Mirror) - Highlighting how closely the present government is working with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Leader of the House Bimal Ratnayke today said the latter had accepted President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the Incumbent government as its 'true love'.

"Most of the Opposition, particularly the SJB, thought the IMF is their true love. However, the IMF has dumped them and has accepted President Anura Kumara Dissanayake as a more competent person," the Minister said.

"That's why the IMF chief said 'bravo' to him," he added.

Now you are boasting about true love recollect what the JVP/NPP said at the elections of making changes to the agreement with the IMF for popular support of the public. Bear in mind that if the JVP/NPP had made any changes to the IMF program it would have been doomsday for Sri Lanka. So be thankful to Ranil for his vision which you guys followed in treading through the swinging bridge. The incumbent government has coveted his neighbours wife (IMF program) and now talking of True Love!!!

Before errection you guys were jealous lover of the IMF. And did everything to break that relationship. However once your came to power you soon realized that the IMF was your sugar daddy to survival. Haiyo National Pacha Party. Please get to work. What have you achieved in 100 days or more? Atleast RW with no mandate restored food fuel and power and food in less than 50 days. You guys are still harping on the previous government issues without getting down to deliver what you promised.

Opposition has no say whatsoever and are size of ant. The system change (whether good or bad) was brought about due to corrupt, uneducated, greedy morons in SLPP, SLFP, SJB and UNP. They had to be chased away with that some of the good politicians also went away.

IMF does not fall in love (or not fall in love) with anybody. It’s a member run organisation that was formed to help when a participating country gets in to a short term liquidity problem to help them organise their economic affairs, provide solutions to stabilise the economy and to put it on a growth trajectory so that similar problems will not crop up in future. It’s up to the member country to use it in the best possible way. It’s not based on ‘love’ or ‘hate’ with each other!

Furthermore, have you no bloody shame to go behind the IMF and wait for their crumbs after the way you talked about Ranil and his connection to the IMF.
