Avissawella, Feb 26 (Daily Mirror) - The Avissawella Police have initiated an investigation into the theft of Rs. 100,000 from a primary school office, a donation made by Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa a few days ago.
The donation was part of the 'Sakwala' programme during the Opposition Leader's visit to the Puwakpitiya South Primary School on February 23.
A complaint was made to the Avissawella police by the school Principal that someone had broken the front door of the office and all the cupboards and the money was stolen.
When the students had come to the school to set up the classrooms, they had seen the office door broken.
