Mr President please focus first on burning issues like cost of living. Study the whole supply chain and reduce middle men involvement and get items at low price to customers. Strengthen consumer protection laws, enforce them strictly and order the CAA to ensure all prices are controlled and final consumer gets it at reasonable price. For the next five years focus only on domestic burning issues and not Hothi rebels, Climate change and renewable energy- leave that to developed nations and big developing nations. Please get your priorities right. Thank you

What an ignorant comment. Most money the state uses is to obtain oil and other petroleum products to generate electricity and fuel for the vehicles on the road. Renewable energy would be the best alternative for our country. You must be one of those people that forgot the fuel queues, 10 hour power cuts and people losing their lives due to that. Without a stable economy and a government that earns more revenue than it spends, there is no way to reduce prices. To cut out middle men, our entire infra should be digitised. That also has push back from our people. If renewable energy is for developed nations, we should start using bullock carts again.

Did RW really need an entourage including MW to give his two cents' worth at the Green Technology Forum? Consider the exorbitant cost and environmental impact. Wouldn't it have been better to send a single representative like an Environmental Scientist?

Who is behind this indifference? Wednesday, 17 January 2024 07:26 AM
In 1970s, we faced a similar situation when NM banned dried chili imports. Chili sold at Rs.2/- a lb. rose to Rs.80/-.But our farmers took the challenge and there was no shortage even though price was high. Farmers became rich. What has happened this time? Farmers are poor and not interested in filling the void. Even farmers are suffering!

Until CEB is privatized, no foreign investor would touch proper the SL renewable energy market! The way political direction is heading (with peoples popular choices) it would not happen in our lifetime!
