One inmate dead and three injured in A'pura prison riot
One inmate has been killed while three other inmates have been injured in a shooting reported during a tense situation at the Anuradhapura prison a short while ago. A fire has also been reported at the prison.
The tense situation had erupted after inmates had launched a protest demanding them to be released due to Coronavirus threat. Inmates had reportedly tried to break free following, sources said.
Police, Special Task Force (STF) and the Fire Department have been deployed to control the situation.
