Northern provincial institutions closed today

All institutions under the purview of the Northern Provincial Council (NPC) would remain closed today due to the prevailing situation, Governor Dr. Suresh Raghavan announced today.

In a statement, he said the decision was taken after considering the safety of employees and the lack of transport services due to the curfew which was in effect till 6 am today.

However, he said a separate date would be declared a service day instead of today. (Romesh Madushanka)
