You can't lock up people until we complete the slow paced investigations or court cases. We need talented prosecutors in our legal department. Where are we heading? Comrade making such a statement reflects how the executive is interfering in the judicial system. It is not the Comrade president who file the cases, it is the state and the there are requirements to fulfill before indicted in a court of law. If done haphazardly case is bound to fail and the accused will be acquitted. These type of statements by the head of the state reflects hate, hypocrisy lack of diplomacy and above all that he still haven't got into the role of the head of a state and behaves as if he is addressing an election meeting. The politics of this country has sunk into such low levels that the government’s daily talk has been on what our MPs eat in the canteen and what was in our ex-president’s kitchen including of all things, cashew nuts! The canteen is not the centre piece of our parliament. It is not what MPs eat but what they contribute to the debates and their input in to law making. It’s a totally new experience since this crowd has taken over. The sad thing is our country is still in crisis and we don’t have a second to lose, to indulge in this nonsense any longer!

Only way you are going to do anything meaningful is to have highly skilled, non corrupt officers in key law enforcement agencies. SL simply has not got many. Over the years, these institutions have been lethargic and been terribly inefficient. Can anyone point out to any significant successful prosecution of a corrupt public servant or politician to serve as an example for others not to do any wrong doings. The whole system has collapsed.
