No coal cost burden in electricity tariffs: PUCSL

Colombo, April 12 (Daily Mirror) - The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has decided to exclude additional costs arising from the coal situation from electricity tariff revisions.

The Commission stated that only reasonable costs incurred in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity will be considered when determining tariff adjustments. Accordingly, any additional expenses linked to the coal situation or other unjustified expenditures were not approved in the most recent tariff revision.

The PUCSL further announced that it has unanimously decided to continue this policy, excluding such additional or unfair costs from all future electricity tariff revision proposals.
