Navin to be appointed as a Governor

Former Minister Navin Dissanayake is to be appointed as a Governor next week.

Earlier, Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province Tikiri Kobbekaduwa decided to resign from his post with effect from Saturday (10).

It was reported that Mr Dissanayake will be offered a Governor's post and the relevant appointment would probably take place on Tuesday.

During a media briefing last month, former Minister Dissanayake said President Ranil Wickremesinghe is likely to appoint some UNPers as new Provincial Governors.

Ministers have nothing to do. Governer sounds more honorable. Keep PCs up and show some devotion to democracy, devolving power even without elections. Replace all pohottu positions and dissolve parliament.
