National Media Policy to become effective by June this year

Colombo, March 6 (Daily Mirror) - The Government intends to introduce a National Media Policy by June this year, Minister of Mass Media Nalinda Jayatissa told Parliament today.

Speaking during the committee stage debate in Parliament, the Minister said a programme will be introduced to educate people including school children on media ethics.

Also he said the digitalization of TV will be expidited as well. 

"This process has been delaying but we want to expidited this exercise," he said
