Colombo, July 29 (Daily Mirror) - All intelligence reports about the next presidential election have already confirmed that Namal Rajapaksa will be the next President of Sri Lanka, former Minister Johnston Fernando said.
Speaking at a recent event in Ratnapura, he said even people in the villages are talking about Namal becoming the next leader.
“There’s talk in the village that Namal will be the next President. All reports have already been given,” Fernando said.
He challenged the government to hold any kind of test or investigation regarding the reports.
“We are ready to face it. Back then, they brought a heap of files in a double cab, but found nothing. They only need to file the case. That was the message on that day,” he said.
He also accused the current government of misleading the public. “This was all a hoax. They took power by deceiving people and confusing their minds. But now people have understood the truth. They will make a change,” he added.
Fernando claimed the government is now scared and is trying to take legal action against Namal Rajapaksa to stop him from rising to power.
“The government is afraid. They are planning to file cases and have him remanded. But they know Namal Rajapaksa is the next leader,” he said.
He also said that during visits to several foreign embassies, diplomats had shared the same view. “We visited many embassies. They told us Namal Rajapaksa will be the next President,” he said.
