NPP’s Tangalle UC budget defeated
Colombo, Nov. 20 (Daily Mirror) - The inaugural budget of the Tangalle Urban Council, which is under the control of the National People’s Power (NPP), has been defeated.
The vote saw nine members in favour of the budget, while ten voted against it.
The defeat was sealed after the councillor representing the Sarvajana Balaya voted with the opposition, giving them the majority.
Meanwhile, in contrast, the governing Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) secured the passage of the inaugural budget of the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha.
The budget received 23 votes in favour.
