NPP Municipal councillor attacked in failed burglary attempt

Colombo, January. 3 (Daily Mirror) - Three individuals, including National People's Power (NPP) member of the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council, were injured after a drug addict attacked them with sharp objects following a failed burglary attempt.

The suspect had attempted to break into the NPP's Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Councillor Yalini Rajendran's house at Gregory's Road at around 2.30 pm this afternoon.

The suspect had attacked the councillor, her son and father.

He was apprehended by the neighbours and handed over to the police.

The injured were admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital.
