NCPA launches probe into Kotahena school girl’s death

Colombo, May 6 (Daily Mirror) - The National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) has launched an investigation into the incident where a schoolgirl committed suicide in Kotahena recently.

The Ministry of Women and Child Affairs said that the NCPA launched the investigation together with the Police Children and Women Bureau.

The Ministry said however, the NCPA had not received a complaint from the child's party and that the child's parents were informed to report to the National Child Protection Authority to record a statement today.

The Authority has requested for a written statement from the Secretary to the Education Ministry on the actions to be taken against the teacher who is said to have sexually assaulted the girl.

Disgusting, it is time to have a sex offenders register to be available to the public. Do we really need sex offenders roaming around the country?. Why can't the RICH form a GROUP and contribute to the building of a Centre to house people who need to be helped to try and give up their craving that are not normal. In other countries they do have centres, time to take a look and build one in the country.

The RICH are not affected so it is the not-so-RICH and the absolutely-POOR that will need to pay for this extravagance. We already have "centres" to house law-breakers - it is called Prison but who will spend the time and money to bring charges against people, fight court cases, pay lawyers and wait out the time for the Sri Lankan Justice System to take it's course ? Unless you are advocating a Sharia-type setup with a parallel Police Force and more immediate consequences to alleged offenders ?

Punish the teacher and click of teachers who did this deadly act. Teachers are expected to be role models and mentors. Punish the students who spread false information about this student.is this from Ramanathan Hindu Ladies or Holy Family Convent or Lindsay
