Colombo, January 28 (Daily Mirror) - Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa would have won the Nobel Peace Prize if he had signed an MOU with the LTTE but he did what he had to do, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa said today.

"Even we and our children will have to suffer for crushing thr LTTE. We were aware of this fact from the beginning," MP Rajapaksa told the media.

"We will continue our politics despite whatever challenges we might have to face," he added.

However, that does not grant him the right to rule as a king—he is still subject to the law. Likewise, being his son does not entitle you to any special privileges; the law applies to you just as it does to everyone else. Moreover, attempting to use past good deeds to dismiss serious accusations is both inappropriate and dishonorable.
