Moulavi complains over threats after Joint Opposition rally



Colombo, Nov. 25 (Daily Mirror) - A Moulavi who participated in religious activities at the recent Joint Opposition rally in Nugegoda has filed a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), alleging that he received threats over his involvement.

The Moulavi told the media that he had been invited to conduct religious activities for the rally and attended for this purpose.

“From the evening of November 21, I started receiving threats via phone calls and social media platforms, especially Facebook and YouTube. People questioned why I conducted religious activities for this group and who invited me. They also threatened to take action against me if I continued to engage with the group,” he said.
