More than 8mn lt. organic liquid, 300,000 MT organic fertiliser distributed among farmers
More than eight million litres of organic liquid fertiliser and 300,000 tons of organic fertiliser have been distributed among farmers, State Minister Shashindra Rajapaksa said.
The decision was announced while commenting on the current fertiliser issue and organic liquid fertiliser at the Task Force meeting held through the Zoom.
During the discussion, it was emphasised that the increase in demand for fertilisers as well as the disruption of supply sometimes lead to quality issues.
However, it was stated that the programme implemented by the government for organic farming will continue, the State Minister said.
He stated that the Ministry has already chosen 85 individuals to produce organic fertiliser across the island. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
