Moderate level air quality indicated in most cities

e Sri Lanka Air Quality Index (SL AQI) recorded moderate air quality levels in most cities yesterday.

The Vehicular Emission Test Trust Fund of the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) reported slightly unhealthy air quality levels in Galle, Puttalam, Badulla and Hambantota.

Meanwhile, moderate air quality was observed in Nuwara Eliya, Batticaloa and Kalutara.

The department warned that air quality could deteriorate to slightly unhealthy or unhealthy levels across the country in the coming days due to polluted wind flows from the northern region under transboundary conditions.

As a precaution, the public is advised to wear face masks whenever possible and seek medical attention if sensitive individuals experience breathing difficulties.
