Ministry Additional Secretary killed in accident

An additional Secretary to the Ministry of Housing and Cultural Affairs was killed after he was hit by a van at Malkaduwawa in Kurunegala this morning.

Police said the additional Secretary who was on his way to the bus, had been knocked down by the van at around 5.20 a.m today on the Kurunegala - Negombo Main Road.

The victim was identified as 59-year-old L.H. Ramyasiri, a resident of Malkaduwawa.

The driver of the van has been arrested.
