The report of the Finance Ministry to remove Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) Chairman Janaka Rathnayake was presented to Parliament by Chief Government Whip Prasanna Ranatunga today.

Minister Ranatunge said the minister's report was presented in terms of Clause 7 of the Public Utilities Commission Act.

Politicians are elected and selected for five years by people but civil servants are appointed by examinations and interviews as a permanent staff ...why and how they can remove this professional and what is the motive behind this ?

If the Members of Parliament are concern of the suppressed ordinary public, must get together to protect Mr. Rathnayake as he fought for such depressed people, bravely unlike the members of the Election commission, by being lethargic. The voters will be able to make a decision, at the next General election, if and when held, on those MPs.
