Parliament, February 6 (Daily Mirror)- Opposition MP Chamara Sampath Dassanayaka who engaged in a heated argument in Parliament with Minister Samantha Vidyaratne challenged the latter to come for a public debate.

The duo hurled allegations against each other.

"We have files on scams which you have been involved in and we will probe everything," Minister Vidyaratne said.

"The talk of the town now is how you and government Ministers consumed cashew nuts wasting public funds during the Independence Day celebration. You can file legal action against me. I am not scared," MP Sampath said.

Both agreed for a public debate later.

Definitely investigation should be done on miniter that were wasting public money on expensive cashew that was eaten like as if they have not eaten any meal for years. Samantha ate probably around a kilo as his main task was to eat not focus on the ceremony. Also he was checking his armpit smell too. What a third class felow. Lol

At least these ministers are far better than consuming millions of dollars from public funds : previous ministers consumed millions of not rupees but in pounds and dollars from public fund and yet this man didn’t have challenge MR and co or Ranil and co or Ms and co yet now consuming peanuts or cashews nut is a big problems : go and find some free in some villages: I think this type of logical reasoning and thinking is naive and these people check their heads before wasting public money in this type of debate EC please put some conditions next time when you give nomination to anyone without good qualifications:

Oh Chamara Sampath, let them enjoy their positions, didn't you eat imported ham , bacon, whiskey during your power using public funds. Just be realistic, cashews are local nuts so consumption will benefit the local farmers. But you guys imported everything for your consumption, and consumed everything for free, at least these new guys are paying Rs 2000 for meals at the Parliament cafetera. Right or Wrong?
