Minimum age for SL women working abroad amended to 21

The government has amended the minimum age limit for Sri Lankan women leaving for foreign employment as domestic aides to 21 years of age.

The decision was announced at the weekly cabinet meeting held at the Government Information Department.

They said the current employment age for women to leave Saudi Arabia is 25 years, and 23 years in other Middle East countries. The minimum age limit announced as 21 for the rest of the Middle East countries other than Saudi Arabia. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
