Middeniya shooting: 9-year-old boy also dies
The 9-year-old boy injured in the shooting incident at Middeniya, which claimed the lives of his father and sister, also succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the National Hospital in Galle.
A 39-year-old man and his 6-year-old daughter were killed in the shooting this morning.
Police said that the man, his daughter and son were travelling on a motorcycle when an unidentified gunman opened fire at them.
The injured children were taken to hospitals, with the daughter being admitted to the Tangalle Hospital, where she later died.
The son was initially admitted to the Embilipitiya Hospital and later transferred to the Galle Hospital.
The victims were identified as residents of Galpottha.
