Meteorology Department officials under virtual office arrest: Sajith

Colombo, Dec. 18 (Daily Mirror) - Officials of the Meteorology Department are virtually under office arrest as they are not allowed to talk to any outsiders or to meet anyone, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa told Parliament today. 

"It is not correct to hide the truth from the people," Premadasa said. 

Also, he proposed setting up of a National Disaster Response Force. Furthermore, he called for the amendment of the Disaster Management Act.
