Media persons who publish stories critical of Govt. under threat: Sajith

Certain media personalities including YouTubers who publish information critical of the government have begun receiving threats, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said today.

"The Government should not harm those who publish information which it does not want published. Instead, it should take efforts to rectify its faults," Premadasa said in a statement.

He was referring to the incidents at the residences of YouTubers Eraj Weeraratne and Milinda Rajapaksa. It was reported that unidentified cyclists had approached the two YouTubers and had acted in a suspicious manner.

"The Government should safeguard the people's right of expression," the Opposition Leader added.

But, still at large. The energy minister had been a suspended public officer under agriculture minister AKD and Chandrika, before 2005 over wasting public money. The government wanted to defend the rapist of that Kotahena child that led to her scucide after 5 months and action taken after protests of people and still at large . Samantha Vidyarathne, that person who yelled of a hole of Uma Oya, influences to re-employ a sacked person after dropping a case against that sacked employer over corruption.

Mr SP has wanted to make government jeopardise saving cock and bull stories. This rhetorician is not deserving for the respectable post like the opposition leader. Besides he lost previous elections since year 2020. He can no longer serve as the opposition leader. If he holds this position further. It will be a blessing in disguise for the ruling party. For the betterment of this country as well as the SJB he should relinquish this post in due course and it should be handed over a suitable parliamentarian of his own party
