Maximum temperature recorded in Ratnapura

Colombo, February (Daily Mirror) - The Meteorology Department reported that Ratnapura recorded the highest temperature in the country yesterday, reaching 34.4°C.

Meanwhile, the lowest temperature of 20.5°C was recorded in Nuwara Eliya.

Temperature readings from other key locations include:

• Colombo – 31.3°C
• Hambantota – 33.6°C
• Trincomalee – 29.1°C
• Puttalam – 32.3°C
• Jaffna – 30.0°C

The department advises the public to take necessary precautions against heat exposure, including staying hydrated and avoiding direct sunlight during peak hours.
