The Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court has issued an order preventing two team managers of the Legend Cricket League from leaving the country over match-fixing allegations. The Legend Cricket League tournament, featuring seven teams of retired international cricketers, is currently underway at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
Colombo Additional Magistrate Pasan Amarasena made this order pursuant to a request made by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) for Preventing Sports Offences, and this order will be effective for a one-month period starting on March 15.
The court issued this order based on a complaint made by Sri Lankan former cricketer Upul Tharanga, who represents the Kandy Samp Army, and New Zealand legend Neil Broom, representing the Punjab Royals, alleging that they were pressured to engage in match fixing deals.
This tournament is currently being held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium until March 19. The travel restrictions were imposed on Yoni Patel and P. Akash, which will be valid for one month. (LS)

There is no country in this world which is corruption free, but the corruption in India belongs to a different nefarious league. It is not just in sports alone , in every endeavour and in every country where Indians are involved there are cases after cases in local courts of Indians being investigated, prosecuted and convicted for corruption. It is is as though it is part of the Indian DNA. Sri Lanka has to stand firm with this allegation against the two Indians. And if need be to get the assistance from the RCMP or the FBI to fend off any Indian attempt, which is highly likely, to halt the investigations.

These matches are good for nothing for the development of cricket in SriLanka, getting down old players to play in Pallakelle where there’s no interest by the local public and blocking the opportunity for young talented players in playing at this venues as some of the matches were CXLD by cricket board to give way for these crap Indian bookie makers.

The frequent on field poor behaviour of our cricketers is the best indictment about the fallen state of cricket. SLC gets its massive revenue from TV rights. The players whatever they do outside the field, on field they seem worse. Some are suspended because of their disgusting conduct and speech even. Other times they rile overseas country with needless antics.

IPL is fixed. BCCI match fixers controlling ICC. SLC crooks kept in power by BCCI via current sports minister.
