Colombo, January 31 (Daily Mirror) - Train services on the Colombo-Badulla mainline have been obstructed from the early hours of this morning by a massive landslide between Thalawakelle and Kotagala.

A senior official of the Nawalapitiya railway control room said the Colombo bound Udarata Menke express train from Badulla has been halted at Thalawakelle railway station while the goods train from Kandy to Badulla is at the Kotagala railway station.

He said a gang of workers from Nawalapitiiya  has been deployed to clear the mounds of earth and that the train services on the upcountry mainline will be subject to delays.
