Colombo, Sept. 23 (Daily Mirror) - Police have arrested two sons of a man who died after being admitted to hospital from a house in Seenimodara, Tangalle, where a massive stock of narcotics was discovered yesterday (22).
The operation led to the seizure of 705.91 kilograms of drugs hidden in three lorries, with an estimated street value of nearly Rs. 9.9 billion.
The haul included 284.94 kilograms of heroin and 420.976 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’).
Police said the raid was carried out during a special operation launched following the suspicious deaths of two individuals found inside the same house.
In addition to the drugs, officers also recovered a T-56 assault rifle and five unpacked pistols.
