Colombo, April 26 (Daily Mirror) - Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) leader Mano Ganesan said China plays a key role in the Asia-centric world today, and it should help Sri Lanka to join BRICS- the grouping of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates
Taking to X, he said India, Russia are well placed in the BRICS grouping. Hence, in future, Chinese good offices should support Sri Lanka to gain entry into BRICS, said TPA leader Mano Ganesan to Sun Haiyan, Vice Minister of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Mr. Ganesan met her along with Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa. The CPC delegation, earlier, met the representatives of the parties such as Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and the National People’s Power (NPP).

Present and future rulers, become only Tax-Collectors have nothing to worry about their private budgets. Everyone ancestor came here from overseas. Everyone born here should be considered Sri Lankan, first and foremost. Doing otherwise is simply racist like how people living in India often are. Western country people don't hold out about where ancestor came from, to get to top positions and that is why they are successful, as their constitutions give equal rights regardless of ethnic origin/race, colour, creed/religion.

India is now full against Maldives and go out of it's way to prevent Indian exports of essential goods to there. Until India is neutralised no point going around trying to get into BRICS, as it is against India's interest to have us become more influential. It might help China and Russia, but us going into BRICS to be closer with the, but not for India.
