Man injured in police shooting at Seeduwa

Colombo, May 6 ( Daily Mirror) -  A man was injured in a police shooting this morning in the 18th Post area of Katunayake after he allegedly attacked a police officer with a sharp weapon.

According to police, the suspect had been acting disruptively, and when officers attempted to arrest him, he reportedly assaulted one of them.

Police then opened fire. He was admitted to the Seeduwa Vijaya Kumaratunga Hospital for treatment with gunshot injuries to his knee.

The Seeduwa Police are conducting further investigations.
