Man destroys property, threatens staff at Hambantota Provincial Council in viral video

Probably the man was pushed to this state due to the staff's lethargic behaviour. Lady screaming in fear, yet recording, without getting to safety could be one of the instigators. Applicants made to go from one counter to another all day long does aggravate almost any law abiding citizen. Unfortunately, we yet have a lot of solitaire playing, leg wiggling, ear digging, thumb twiddling staff in our institutes. Get to the bottom of this. Dismiss and punish those feet dragging staff. Employee younger and capable staff. Religious leader recommendation free, nepotism free, politician recommendation free, commission free, union recommendation free world is what we are looking for. Pay the staff according to the number of cases solved. Keep the managers on their toes.

This is the frustration of the common man when the staff who is supposed to work is not doing the job. This is happening in wattala pradeshiya Saba too Dear Prez and PM, please replace appointment by ministers to get rid of inefficiency and corruption

WHAT THE HELL WERE ALL THE STAFF DOING SCREAMING AND RUNNING AROUND, ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS A FEW MEN SHOULD HAVE LIFETED ONE OF THEOSE LONG DESKS AND HOLDING IT IN FRON OF THEM WITH THE GEGS FACED TOWARDS THE MAN AND RAN STRAIGHT UPTO HIM AND DROPPED HIM TO THE GROUND WITH HIM HOLDING THE CHAIR IN HIS HAND OR AND IT WOULD HAVE ENDED IN A SHORT WHILE INSTEAD OF ALLOWING HIM TO RUN A MOCK DISTROYING THE PLACE. Most of the government officers hardly work. They drag the matters and waste lot of time of general public. Good side of this is that people will not tolerate this anymore. People had anger against politicians last time and this time it will be against the government officials that does not work. This may be a similar incident but unfortunately he may have to face a serious issue when it comes to legal side. Government officiers should work honestly and fast or next wave will be uncontrollable against them.

Find out from the person the reason and take action. Although what he did was wrong, it is time to take action. Why is it that the superiors have not attended to his requirements. Suggest Ministers get some assistants to look into at least a few shortcomings in each organisation, that come under them. Almost all government organisations are corrupt and instructions should be given to the senior staff to take necessary action and be responsible.

Happened in Hambantota, soon Namal will be dragged into this. Keep him away, address the issue, as many have commented the male staff could have stopped this but they failed. The attitude of the staff towards people who attends the office to get things done must have been poor. This must be investigated and action taken on the lethargic staff

Despite Government's effort to provide a good governance to all, this is the frustration of the common man that is treated by officials in District Secretary, AGA officers, Pradeshiya Saba in Sri Lanka. As a senior citizen , it has happened to me. They are called accountants and subject clerks working in Divisional Secretary offices etc., The common excuse is unable to trace the file and try office peon. Then These guys (especially ladies) are lethargic . They come late to the office and leave early from office. The ladies come late to office with their home problems at home and having Brakfast (until 9:30 AM) and lunch (until 2 PM) , enjoying morning tea, Afternoon tea in groups. Never treat public by good morning, good afternon and having bad moods

I wish to quote a similar incident from Dehiwala AGA office accountant lady officer telling me the pension file has been misplaced and takes time to trace. Even after 3 months never found , then spoke to KKS and found it.

The usual story of subject clerks are file missing and/or file misplaced. Example, at Moratuwa Divisional secretariate office. The mail clerk denies the receipt of registered letters received from Moratuwa Post office. No supervising officers the truth. Last resort is to contact KKS at Record room to trace my pension file

After reading the comments made by my learned friends , I wish to add another story of a subject clerk or Pension clerk at the Moratuwa Divisional Secretariate. The said subject clerk has no manners. Her attitude towards pensioners are hopeless. her usual answer is come on another day because I have to locate or trace the file. Even to speak to her boss (Accountant) another difficult matter as the guy is ob on phone most of the time. They never respond to our letters. We have to go to them Like begging asking for a help. They should realise that one day they become a senior citizen.

This should happen at the Immigration Department everyday. These government employees are a law unto themselves. I hope the magistrate will be very compassionate and understand the man has committed a public service.
