Man attacked to death over prohibited pyramid racket dispute

A 37-year-old man who had invested millions of rupees was assaulted to death by an individual over a pyramid racket dispute at Galbokka in Tangalle.

Police said the victim had given Rs. 2 million in cash to the suspect to invest in a prohibited pyramid scheme.

They said there had been a dispute between the duo when the victim had gone to the suspect's house to inquire about the money he had invested.

Investigations revealed that the suspect had assaulted the victim with a club.

The victim, a resident of Tangalle had died after being admitted to the Tangalle Hospital.

The Tangalle Police are investigating to arrest the suspect who had fled the area.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

Police has to take immediate action to arrest this culprit n sentence him for life imprisonment. Innocent life is lost once again. Also the suspect must be ordered to pay compensation to the victims family in addition to the sum invested.
