Major judicial reshuffle: Over 100 officials transferred

Colombo, Sep 10 (Daily Mirror) - A total of 106 judicial officials have been transferred effective from September 15, 2025, the Judicial Service Commission said.

The transfer includes District Judges, Magistrates and Court Registrars.

Among the transferred magistrates are Maligakanda Magistrate Lochana Abeywickrama Weerasinghe, Mahara Magistrate H.G.J.R. Perera, Kurunegala Magistrate N.D.B. Gunaratne, Galle Magistrate I.N.N. Kumarage and Balapitiya Magistrate R.D. Janaka.

Introduce a system whereby when court judgments is clearly a miscarriage of justice, it should be reviewed by a senior judge or district level panel instead of appeal process to reduce corruption in legal system. If the panel decides it’s not miscarriage of justice then the parties can decide to go to appeal or not. Contempt of court should not be used as a cover for corruption.

MESSAGE IS CLEAR " LEAVING NO ROOM FOR TEMPTATION AND OR CORRUPTION " GOOD DECISION. NOW TIME TO GO INTO THE PUBLIC SERVICE AND CLEAN UP ALL DEPTS, SO THE COUNTRY CAN RUN SMOOTHLY. MOST OFTEN THAN NOT, ONE REMAINING IN THE SAME POSITION (ESPECIALLY IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE) FOR TOO LONG IN COUNTRIES RIDDLED WITH CORRUPTION LEAVES ROOM FOR THE UNEXPECTED. RESHUFFLING IS EXPECTED AS IS DONE AND HAS BEEN DONE BY MANY GOVTS AROUND THE WORLD, INCLUDING OURS.

Anyone who is not giving ruling based on Pachawatte office preplanned judgements, will be fired or transferred or charged with some bribery allegations.
