He does not have any leadership qualities but CBK's intention was to chase away Rajapakses from politics which made her to field him as a Common condidate under UNP ticket because UNP is always a loosers' party under Ranil. A person(Maithri) who is fearing for his life cannot be a leader of a nation or people's representative.

Who is he decides this? If the law obliged him do he must. It is in the interest of the public. People who lost their loved ones need answers and all communal violence after that destroyed the peace and communal harmony. He must come out with everything he knows for the sake of all the victims locally and internationally. Or CID must make the statement public.

If the names of those who are involved in the Easter Sunday attacks have already been revealed by him in his statement to the CID, why have they not been charged? confessions and confidentiality have two distinct meanings. One is admission of guilt (in camera) the other to expose the truth (suppressing vital evidence connected with terrorism and mass murder of 25 innocent lives). The CID statement does not absovle him of guilt and the CID is a public institution in place to protect the public at large and not to entertain one's fancy statement involving a foreigner (already exposed) to the public) at that (which is serious) as a secret but to get permission from court to act on it as the whole world now is waiting for the truth as to WHO DUN IT and he admits he knows!!! He has already been found guilty by court for neglect of duty being a President at that .He is nothing but a TRAITOR to us all. He even has the gumption to ask for police protection
