Main line trains suspended this morning due to flooding

Train services scheduled to operate on the Main Line this morning have been suspended following flooding along several sections of the railway track, including areas in Daraluwa and Gampaha.

According to railway authorities, heavy rainfall overnight caused water levels to rise rapidly, submerging parts of the line and making conditions unsafe for train operations. Technical teams have been deployed to assess the situation and begin clearance work as soon as water levels recede.

Passengers are advised to remain alert for further updates and use alternative transport where possible. Authorities say services will be restored once the tracks are deemed safe for operations.
