Colombo, October 2 (Daily Mirror) - Colombo Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama today ordered that Neville Wanni Arachchi, the former security officer of ex-President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who was taken into custody by the Bribery Commission, be remanded till October 17.

He was produced before court on charges of failing to disclose the manner in which he had acquired assets and properties valued at over Rs. 28 million. Pic by Isuru Perera

How many more Sri Lankans acquired riches that they can't explain? Many probably have have migrated too. Would the government be checking the bank accounts and Fixed Deposits of all citizens in and out of SL? Please do. If people have nothing to hide they should be willing to submit explanations.

Big fish.. He is a billionaire, and nobody knows how he became such a wealthy person in such a short period of time. These guys behaved like playboys when they were in power.

The laws are there now, confiscate all his assets but don’t waste more taxpayers funds by maintaining him in jail. Let him work and earn a proper living wage like everyone else.
