MPs should motivate and encourage health workers: Amaraweera
All parliamentarians should act with responsibility and motivate and encourage all health personnel who are engaged in the battle against the COVID outbreak, Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said.
He said this while addressing the media after flagging off a programme to provide essentials including food and sanitary items to the Health workers and family health personnel working in all Health Medical Officer's Offices in the Hambantota District.
“All health staffers in the country are making a huge commitment to save the people of the country from Covid pandemic. But many still think it's their duty. So be it. But it is not fair to shorten the mission of the health sector. If not for the commitment of the health workers, the whole nation would have become a graveyard,” the Minister said.
