Colombo, May 26 (Daily Mirror) - While stating that almost all Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) organisers are frustrated because their nominees cannot all be accommodated in local bodies, MP Rohini Kaviratne yesterday said both the party leadership and the organisers should engage in dialogue to reach an amicable solution.

“Almost all organisers of our party face a difficult situation, as there are many who want to be included as members of local bodies. However, all of them cannot be accommodated as the SJB has won only a limited number of seats in local bodies. The area organisers are unable to face the local-level party members when they cannot accommodate them in the local bodies. This is the crisis which the SJB is facing at the moment,” Ms. Kaviratne told the media.

“Organisers should not rush to submit their resignations but should engage in dialogue with the party leadership and see whether they could reach a settlement,” she added. She also said that other political parties might face a similar situation.

SJB Bandarawela and Badulla District Organiser Chaminda Wijesiri, Rattota Organiser and Deputy National Organiser Ranjith Aluwihare, Galle District MP Bandulalal Bandarigoda, one of the Nuwara Eliya District Organisers Asoka Sepala, Dambulla Organiser Champika Wijeratne, and one of the organisers in Matale, Wasantha Aluvihare, resigned from their posts over the weekend.

Meanwhile, SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara urged the organisers who resigned to remain with the SJB. “We can resolve whatever issue amicably through a dialogue,” he said.

Sounds like she has not read or heard what some organizers said. People that did not even sought election too were being given seats as councilors by the remote control party leader, making it untenable to hold their position as party organizers.

Some of these organisers may be very junior politicians. Whether junior of senior all politicians aim to end high for which support of local councils' politicians coud be necessary. When all requests cannot be accomodated there is going to be trouble and that is what has happened. One further issue is Sajith being a student of Ranil, though he is opposed to Ranil, handles party matters in an authoritative manner that is not acceptable following Ranil's conduct

Your party will never be able to capture power unless you change your policies from top to bottom.First introduce simplicity, way of living, stop greed for luxury vehicles, just try to be simple as ordinary masses . The leadership of SJB is unfortunate at those elections very recently held and the motivation of the people were collapsed tragically as a result of the leading level bodie's behaviour at those propaganda meetings. A grand convocation should be called for those controversial problems immediately and secret negotiations to be zero with other party leaders especially with UNP. That's why UNP tries to catch all of SJB into them. They need to destroy this front always. This is a crucial junction for both which I mentioned above. And also another important thing is trying to catch the leadership of Local Governments. However it could, the government has power to fail all those using some of their legitimate power as a 2/3 powers government. Only thing is justifiable decision with throwing out of those maneuvers for catch the power greedily.
