MP Archchuna requests for security amidst Hulftsdorp shooting

Colombo, Feb 19 (Daily Mirror) - In the wake of shooting incident in the Hulftsdorp Court complex this morning, Jaffna District MP Ramanathan Archchuna requested security for him at least during public sessions.

The MP told Parliament that he had been threatened by several people in Jaffna during the past few weeks.

"We are planning to go back to Jaffna after these sessions. I would like to request the Public Security Minister to provide us with security at least during public sessions, as this issue has become more important in our country," he said.

The Deputy Speaker said the matter will be referred to the Speaker.
