Colombo, May 27 (Daily Mirror) - Lotus Road in Colombo Fort has been closed to vehicular traffic due to a protest march organized by the Inter University Students’ Federation (IUSF), causing severe traffic congestion in the area.

dedication to one;s progress particularly at university level should be identical to the dedication to studies during school time which finally decides how intelligent one is to enter the university but once in the university students appear to lose their dedication on their purpose at the university and with various outside issues creeping in waste valuable study time at taxpayers expense with their motto ROAD TO SUCCESS resort to demonstrations inconveniencing the general public under the guise of THE LUNACY OF FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS

Best decision would be to charge them a fee. If they go overseas to study they need to pay those universities so why can’t they pay and study in this country without expecting free education at the expenses of the citizens taxes. Bad enough we have to pay for their education through taxes we also have to deal with their disruptive behaviour as well. Time has come to stop this nonsense all around.

Then protest within the University premises. Not on the roads, severely inconveniencing the public. No wonder a 3 year course takes over 5 years for these guys to complete. The same protest mentality comes out in work places when they get employed as well.
