The economy is yet to be rebuilt! Using international loans with interest and having high government expenditure is not solving the situation. You just bought time with these creditors to stabilise the economy using loans which are due for repayment from next year onwards. Then it will show the true situation. Also, ensure no vote rigging and using the Tri Forces for your personal agenda by suppressing the voters. Vacate gracefully once the election results are released.

You, Mr President, are in parliament since 1977. The people made a huge error electing a president in 2019 and acted in concert to get rid of him in 2022. Some introspection will let you see what you’ve done and not done since you were appointed by parliament as president, and whether you have met the demands of the 2022 aragalaya which were articulated over 4 months at GFG. Before you ascended to the presidency you appointed Mr Wijewardene to even look at the needs of the protesters, and then acted tough since your elevation, which you may say was necessary. Improvement in the economy that you mention is a small part of that large picture the protesters drew. In the lead up to the 1977 elections, your party harped on the seven year misrule/ curse of the 1970 Bandaranaike govt. Corruption and nepotism and the inability to honestly address your fellow citizens is the bane since 1977, too. If ‘aragalaya’ is what will resolve these issues it could happen unless ‘politics’ change.
