Lankadeepa wins SLIM-Kantar People’s Award for 20th time

Colombo, March 19 (Daily Mirror) - Wijeya Newspapers 'Lankadeepa' was named the Most Popular Newspaper of the Year at the prestigious SLIM-Kantar People’s Awards last evening, marking its 20th win at the annual event.

The awards ceremony, which recognises brands and personalities based solely on the preferences of Sri Lankan consumers, was held at the Monarch Imperial in Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte.

The award was presented by Prof. Jayantha D. N. Dewasiri, Vice President (Education) of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing to Editor of the Sunday Lankadeepa Kanchana Dassanayake and Editor of the Daily Lankadeepa Ajantha Kumara Agalakada.

Several senior representatives of Wijeya Newspapers were also in attendance, including Chief Operating Officer Janaka Ratnakumara, Senior Advertising Consultant Darshana de Silva, Manager (Preparation) Thiwanka Silva, Head of Distribution Ranjith Rupasinghe, Senior Printing Manager Nihal Gunaratne, Marketing Managers Suraj Pathirana and Lasantha Abeywardena, and Advertising Consultant Tissa Kudathihi.
