Colombo, Oct 21 (Daily Mirror) - The Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) said that technical issues which caused a recent disruption to the Lanka Government Cloud (LGC) services have been fully resolved, with all affected online government platforms now operational.
ICTA assured that the security and integrity of data were not compromised at any point during the incident. “Throughout the restoration process, the highest data protection and security standards were upheld, and no data loss has been reported,” the agency stated, noting that assurance procedures were prioritised over the speed of recovery.
The agency expressed appreciation to government institutions for their cooperation and to the public for their patience during the recovery period.
ICTA also thanked its industry partners for their immediate support and deployment of technical expertise, which played a crucial role in restoring services swiftly. The prompt response, it said, demonstrated a strong commitment to ensuring public service continuity.
Addressing media reports, ICTA clarified that the planned migration to the newly contracted LGC environment had not commenced at the time of the disruption. It said that the migration preparation was carried out in parallel with the recovery process and was unrelated to the system failure.
