Lal Kantha refutes reports on Cabinet reshuffle, PM change

Colombo, May 28 (Daily Mirror) - The government has not discussed any Cabinet reshuffle or change of the Prime Minister as reported by some media, Agriculture Minister Lal Kantha said today.

He told reporters that there have been no discussions within the government on reshuffling the Cabinet or changing the Prime Minister and that the media is creating issues.

"There are no such issues. There is no internal conflict in the government. I think the head of those who make such comments must be checked," he added.

The NPP must first demonstrate its achievements to the public before attempting to challenge the status quo. The nation faces increasingly complex challenges that the current government is unlikely to manage effectively. Senior leaders of the JVP should recognise that now is not the time to destabilize an already fragile political landscape. Should they proceed recklessly, both the NPP and the JVP risk political oblivion with no prospect of return. It is becoming increasingly apparent that the Rajapaksas are gradually reasserting their influence, and in the coming years, they may well secure the parliamentary majority they seek. The NPP and JVP must remain vigilant and cognizant of the looming threats to democratic progress.

Can't you see the government's achievements? In this short period, they made sure corrupt officials and politicians are prosecuted and tax evading companies caught and made to pay taxes. Even that alone is a huge achievement. Previous governments did nothing to recover such collosal amount of funds.
