Labour Department warns of fake job posts on social media

Colombo, Feb 07 (Daily Mirror) - The Labour Department denied social media posts claiming employment recruitments by the department.

A senior official stated that neither the Labour Department nor any institution under its authority is currently hiring for any positions.

The public is urged not to respond to these fraudulent posts or share personal credentials. An investigation has been launched under the direction of the Commissioner General to identify those behind the scam.

Additionally, people are advised not to share One-Time Passwords (OTPs), bank account details, phone numbers, or any other personal information with external parties.

The department suspects that this scheme is solely intended to collect personal data.
