The Information Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) announced that the technical issues which caused the recent disruption to the Lanka Government Cloud (LGC) services have been fully resolved. All affected online government services are now fully operational and accessible to the public.
ICTA assured that the security and integrity of data were never compromised during the incident. The agency emphasized that the highest data protection and security standards were maintained throughout the restoration process, with no data loss reported.
Expressing gratitude, ICTA extended appreciation to all government institutions for their cooperation during the recovery period and to the public for their patience and understanding. It also thanked industry partners for their rapid deployment of resources and expertise, which enabled the swift restoration of services and ensured continuity of public service.
Clarifying recent reports, ICTA stated that the new and advanced LGC environment, which had been previously contracted, is now ready to take over workloads from the existing system through a planned migration exercise. The agency clarified that this migration process had not begun at the time of the disruption and was unrelated to the system failure.
ICTA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining uninterrupted digital government services, adding that continuous measures are underway to strengthen the resilience, capacity, and reliability of the Lanka Government Cloud in support of Sri Lanka’s expanding digital ecosystem.
