Colombo, April 9 (Daily Mirror) - Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella arrived at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to give a statement.

Police said that Rambukwella's appearance at the CID was related to an investigation into the alleged import of substandard human Immunoglobulin vials.

This person has been accused of importing medicines of low quality which has led to death of patients. He is also accused of manufacturing drugs in a garage using just tap water. He is also accused on misleading the cabinet of having a shortage of medicines when there was no acute shortage of that medicines. How can CID allows him to go home after the questioning him?

It is time for the Police to file charges without delay. I am of the belief that a person must be arrested when the Police are ready to file charges. It was over 6 months back that he was first arrested and remanded for this offence. Police still not ready to file charges. Poor performance by Police. Here I am not defending Keheliya but expressing what is right
