Kandy on alert after 180 mm rainfall, landslide risk high



Colombo, Nov. 27 (Daily Mirror) - Kandy city has recorded 180 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours, prompting authorities to warn of potential landslides in the upper hilly areas, the Kandy Municipal Council said.

The council issued a city-wide alert, noting that meteorologists have warned if rainfall reaches 100 mm today, the risk of landslides will increase significantly. Residents have been urged to remain vigilant, avoid vulnerable slopes, and exercise caution while traveling in affected areas.
