Kandy MC labourers given special opportunity to worship Sacred Tooth Relic today

Colombo, April 27 (Daily Mirror) - Steps have been taken to provide a special opportunity for the labourers of the Kandy Municipal Council, who continuously engaged in the cleaning of Kandy city, to venerate the Sacred Tooth Relic today.

They will be allowed to venerate the Sacred Tooth Relic from 4.00 pm today on the final day of the "Siri Dalada Dekma".

The programme o clean the Kandy city will commence at 4.00 pm today with the support of a number of institutions such as Clean Sri Lanka, Central Provincial Council, Kandy Municipal Council, Kandy District Secretariat and the Provincial Education Department.

Meanwhile, the academic staff, non-academic staff and students will launch a programme to clean the Kandy city this morning.

The Kandy District Secretariat has planned to provide meals to all the devotees remaining in Kandy tonight and tomorrow morning after concluding the 'Siri Dalada Dekma'.
