June 8 (Daily Mirror) - Former diplomat Kananathan held consultations with Kerala Chief Minister VD Menon Satheesan, the veteran and senior politician who was elected as the Chief Minister two weeks ago, at the Chief Minister’s Office inThiruvananthapuram this morning.
Kananathan congratulated the Chief Minister on his recent electoral victory and conveyed his best wishes for the success of the new government which was elected two weeks ago. The discussions focused on Kerala’s economic development and opportunities to attract new investments to the state.
A key topic of discussion was the potential for Kerala to play a greater role in the value addition and processing of spices produced in African countries and Sri Lanka. Drawing on his international experience, Kananathan highlighted opportunities for establishing partnerships that would enable spices sourced from Africa and Sri Lanka to be processed, packaged, branded, and exported from Kerala, leveraging the state’s long-standing expertise in the global spice trade.
Chief Minister Satheesan welcomed the initiative and reiterated the state’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment while ensuring sustainable and inclusive growth. He noted that his government would actively engage with prospective investors to promote economic development and employment generation across Kerala.
The meeting concluded with both leaders expressing optimism about Kerala’s future and the potential for increased domestic and international investment in the state.
